“Whenever I hear of someone preparing to step out in faith and launch a new church, my heart starts pumping a little faster! When I learn of a church harnessing the technology available in our rapidly changing world and using it to advance the cause of Christ, I get excited! When I see a church recognize the genius of God by allowing people to operate in the way He uniquely gifted them, I know that lives are about to change!
I’m captured by the vision of this project! For the past nine years I have witnessed the effectiveness of video teaching. Our previous church’s video broadcast reached over 100,000 households every week, and God dramatically changed lives. Serving now as the teaching pastor of a church with regional locations, I realize that each week I get to share God’s grace and truth via video with thousands of people I have never personally met. Still, we feel as if we know each other and we’re growing closer to God together!
I believe that if leaders are freed up to primarily lead, and pastors are allowed to primarily shepherd and nurture, and teachers are primarily able to teach, the church can be at its best. I’m honored to be a part of the initial vision of this new church and look forward to growing alongside of people I may never meet this side of eternity...but on the other side...oh yeah!!”
Mike Breaux, Teaching Pastor, Heartland Community Church, Rockford, Illinois
“Using technology to reach our current culture is simply speaking its native language. Tim Cole’s vision of using “video messages” to plant a new church will change the way we think of church planting in the future.
As a former church planter I know how difficult it is to find time to prepare dynamic messages for the weekend. His vision frees up the minister of the local church to pastor and lead the people while using dynamic messages from outside teachers via video. Five years ago this would have seemed too challenging, but with advanced technology this new innovation, along with Tim’s commitment to excellence and his love for the un-churched, makes this a project that I’m excited to be a part of.”
Kyle Idleman, Teaching Pastor, Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, Ky
“In this new age of church planting, multiple models are spreading across our nation like wildfire. One of the most fascinating models has been new churches with sermons presented via video. Churches have grown to several thousand in size in Georgia, Illinois, and other locations, with the sermons presented from remote locations.
Now, Richmond, Virginia will have an opportunity to experience a new church, with great pastoral and administrative staff on sight, and some of the best communicators in America providing the preaching via video.
The VEF, Tim Cole - lead planter, and his team have put together an exciting new church planting plan. It will be exciting to see what great things God brings to Virginia’s capital.”
