OUR CORE VALUES

Core values are the blueprints or schematics that set the course for how a church develops over time. They are the special combination of ministry facets that determine the unique character of each local church. They determine the direction, structure and culture each church takes.

(Click HERE to listen to "Simple Church", a message by our Senior Minister, Tim Cole.  In this message, Tim outlines the 4 "design elements" Velocity Church is all about.)

The following components are central ingredients we believe are required in the recipe for any dynamic, healthy church and the values by which Velocity Church is driven:

1. Biblical Authority:

We believe the Bible is God’s love letter to mankind. We trust it to be inspired by God and without error. We believe that following the Bible’s teaching closely is the best way not to screw up everything in our lives. We're the type of church where we let the Bible have the final answer to any issues that come up.

2. Assertively seeker-sensitive; yet fundamentally discipleship-oriented:

We use what to some might seem to be unorthodox methods to reach un-churched adults & youth who most likely will not be reached by existing churches. At the same time we never sacrifice authentic worship, transformational biblical teaching or the Christ-given mission of the church.

3. Small Group Driven Structure:

We believe holistic small groups (we call ours Gel Groups) are the primary place in the church for you to grow in your faith-journey with Christ. It's also the primary place for you to reach out and serve the community, grow as a leader and make close friends who will walk alongside you on the journey.

4. Inspiring, Interactive Worship:

We believe corporate worship should be active with audience participation, and may include live interviews, group discussion, impromptu dramas, group games, etc. to make every person transition from spectator to participant in the worship experience.

5. Outreach to the Community:

We strategically choose activities to most effectively become the “Hands & Heart” of Christ in the community. Events will include things like free oil-changes for single moms, after-school tutoring for “at risk” children, free car washes, cleaning public bathrooms, free Christmas giftwrapping, and more.

6. Glo-cal Impact:

Fundamentally, we believe each local church exists to promote Kingdom growth at large. Our aim is to equip and empower each member to make an impact both across the street and around the world. We’ll aggressively target opportunities to make a "glo-cal" impact through partnerships with other church planting movements at home and abroad.

7. Environment for Innovation:

We aggressively use fresh methods for projection, packaged sermon series, video production, web design, and corporate communication, always trying to stay “ahead of the curve” in our attempt to reach a modern generation for Christ.

8 . Multiplication

We believe that God, by his very nature, is a math kind of guy. He loves addition, but even more, multiplication! This new church reflects God’s character in this way by assertively seeking to multiply in all aspects of its ministry. You’ll see strategic multiplication of disciples, small groups, leaders, ministries and new churches.
